Special thanks to Emily Cassel, life coach and dream weaver here in Pittsburgh, for the nomination in answering these beautiful, reflective questions, that had me spending my day basking in gratitude.
What is your favorite place you’ve ever visited in the world & why?
I have adored each place I’ve seen with a loving heart and new eyes. Travel is my biggest release, along with writing. But it would have to be Geneva, Switzerland. The purpose of that weekend trip was to spend time by myself, write, explore, be inspired, be at peace, without the pressure of a place “I have to go/be a tourist at while I’m abroad.” I would live there in less than a heartbeat.
Who is the most inspiring person in your life right now?
My mother. I am at the age where I start to realize how much she has given up just for me to be happy. The list has no end. No one (and I tell her this, all the time, while she laughs at me) will love me like that again. It is the single most humbling feeling in the world.
If you could choose only 3 foods to subsist on for the rest of your life, what would they be?
Cookies. More cookies. Then after that, some cookies.
What is your dream career? If you already have your dream career, what’s your alternate dream career?
To spread the light.
What’s your favorite/most-played song at the moment?
Fight Song, by Rachel Platten.
What do you purely because it brings you joy?
Sing. There’s no energy release like it. And it brings others joy.
If you could choose one responsibility in your career or life to eliminate, what would it be and why?
I’d really like that “limited funds in my bank account” thing to go away. Universe, take this as my intention for abundance.
If you could choose one super power, what would it be and how would you use it?
I already have many super powers. My most faithful (and perhaps my most challenging) is emotional empathy. It is always there. Watch what you feel around me; I will feel it too.
What’s your favorite room in your house?
My bedroom - it’s always been my bedroom, no matter where I live. This is where I think. This is where I’m alone. This is where I become who I am.
Post your favorite photo of yourself and tell us the backstory. Do you remember what you were thinking, doing, or experiencing that day?
Speaking of traveling - sitting in Le Select Cafe in Paris, where frequented F. Scott Fitzgerald, Picasso, Henry Miller, and many other greats. Was feeling the magic.
What’s your go-to order at a coffee shop?
Cappucino! I may be an American, but I was raised here as an Italian.
